The following is a compilation reel of handmade 16mm films created by OCAD University students enrolled in the first-year course, GART1B06: Time Based Media (Section 6, Fall 2010).

In an assignment called ‘Handmade Film’, students were asked to create a 1 minute, cameraless 16mm film project. Using clear & black leader, and/or found footage, the students were encouraged to explore techniques including marking, painting, scratching and cutting film by hand, frame by frame. There are 1440 frames in 1 minute of 16mm film.
